๐งญ Heading Reflections
โOld narratives are so hard to break; there is so much wrapped up in who we were. Changing the story feels as though you must first knock down everything in your path, but in truth, it is merely playing mentor to the main character.โ
โEach time you peel back a layer of self-deception, you find more of yourself.โ
โLimits are placed on us to stop us from outshining those who cannot handle our brightness.โ
โRules limit our play so that we can feel power in consistency.โ
โจ Wisdom of the Greats
"Whether you think you can, or you think you canโt โ youโre right." โ Henry Ford
โLife is inherently risky. There is only one big risk you should avoid at all costs, and that is the risk of doing nothing." โ Denis Waitley
โOur greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." โ Confucius
๐ Paths of the Wonderer
What if the only thing holding me back is the way I think about limits?
The Thinkerโs Path ๐ง : I would analyse my limits logically, challenging whether they are based on evidence or just assumptions.
๐ง : Identify one "limit" in your life and research counterexamples of people who have broken through similar barriers.
The Wandererโs Path ๐ฟ: I would embrace uncertainty, stepping into opportunities without overthinking where they might lead.
๐ฟ: Say "yes" to something unpredictable today - an opportunity, an invitation, or an idea you would normally hesitate on.
The Challengerโs Path ๐ฅ: I would defy expectations, doing the exact opposite of what fear tells me to do.
๐ฅ: Break a personal rule youโve always followed, just to see what happens when you challenge it.
๐ฅ Discovery Challenges
Choose a Challenge
Imagine a younger version of yourself wrestling with self-imposed limits. What do they believe they canโt do? What do they think they must or should do? What do they feel they deserve (or donโt deserve)? Write these down, then go through the Reflection Questions in The Five Tyrants of Self-Suppression to unpack them. Finally, commit to taking one small action to challenge a limit.
โ OR โ
Commit to failing at something today. Not recklessly, but intentionally. Step into discomfort, try something uncertain, and see what you learn in the process.
Choose a Reflection Prompt
"In what area of my life do I feel the most held back? What need do I feel is not being met?โ
โ OR โ
"What would my life look like if I embraced uncertainty and trust instead of fear? What experiences would I have?โ
โ OR โ
"Whatโs one โimpossibleโ thing I could attempt today, even in the smallest way even in the knowledge I wouldnโt complete the whole?โ

๐ฅ Break Your LIMITING Beliefs and Wipe Out YOUR Negative Thinking โ Tom Bilyeu | Impact Theory โ What I like is how it explores actively thinking beyond limitations, it references some good source materials and asked some very impactful questions. Try This: Pick one question from the video and apply it now, or journal on it.
๐ Your Brain on Uncertainty โ Ness Labs - I like how it talks about the biological response to uncertainty and how it helps to reframe the anxious response as one of curiosity. Viewing uncertainty as a learning opportunity can reduce stress and lead to better outcomes. Ultimately resulting in a change in your thought patterns, making self-imposed limits more flexible.
๐๏ธ Seth Godin - The Tim Ferriss Show โ I have listened to more Tim Ferriss than I would like to admit. But these two men are incredible, empathic, and rational thinkers. Listening to them talk about different perspectives makes me think more is possible in the world.

Currently Reading: Good Inside: A Practical Guide to Becoming the Parent You Want to Be by Becky Kennedy (Amazon)
What I am liking and appreciating is how this deepens my understanding of child development and the emotional and biological needs they express. Viewing a childโs behaviour as a reflection of a dysregulated biological state fosters empathy and allows us to support them in feeling secure. Itโs fascinating how much of ourselves we can recognise in these patterns. Though I donโt have children yet, Iโve cared for them before, and gaining insight into the space I would need helps me shape my own growth. When I do become a parent, I want to approach it with a foundation of loving understanding.
Previous Readings: Learned Optimism by Martin Seligman (Amazon)
What I liked is how the science-based elements of this book helped me to realise how my worldview effects my reality. It was game changing to understand my pessimism not as a weakness but as a strength towards a more realistic view on reality. It helped me understand the importance of a mixed perspective. All this without toxic positivity.
Questions that encapsulate the book:
How does your worldview give you power and weakness?
How do I overcome crippling negative self-talk?
How do I create a life of flexible optimism?
For People Who: Want to understand the true definition of optimism and how learned helplessness keeps you down.
