Relate, Reflect and Ruminate: Puppets to Fate

Because sometimes, emotions don’t fit into bullet points and I have a flare for the dramatic.

For those reflecting on inner battles, confronting regret, and exploring the cost of loyalty and life’s choices.

Leagues of men stand poised,

Battle before them,

Hearts pound, emotions denied.

A great host opposes,

The inevitable death their opposition,

But all thoughts turn home.

The battle shifts then from the field,

Forever inward to the regrets of life,

Wondering what could have been and what might still.

Sight skips to the commander,

Safe and far from harm,

Their pieces in play.

Regret to reflection,

Realisation rises as all loyalty decays,

The price not worthy of payment.

Some remained, and are now remembered,

Those whom felt obliged,

Their masterpieces lost to the cruelty of the conductor.

Memories become the life,

The life becomes the memories,

Games ever played.
