Resonating Through Shared Humanity: A Call to Change - Empowering the Inner Graveyard Shift Worker

This is where the magic happens. Or at least the awkward self-reflection.

For those feeling drained, unfocused, and in need of motivation to reclaim control and move toward their goals.

Try to discipline your focus. What I mean is that paying attention to one thing is not something you are naturally good at. Over the years, there has been a discipline of working for others – probably due to masking. But for your own work, this has slipped into chaos. All this is to say that disciplining your own focus is like striking hot iron in a forge, but here your iron cannot decide if it wishes to be molten or solid. If shaped with undisciplined consideration, the easiest path may be taken.

In the short term, gaming and the quick joy of a show – although there’s nothing wrong with that – become a routine and ritual that may not actually achieve what you wish out of life. For example, you wish you could do your own projects during the day and not have to worry about money, right? But instead, it’s the opposite – your projects are relegated to the graveyard shift.

This means that to actually get stuff done, you need to cater to the graveyard shift and imagine they have been working all day. No wonder they just want to lie on a couch and do nothing. But this does not bring the future you seek. To move the needle, they must be disciplined in their pursuit – despite a lack of motivation and despite a lack of focus.

Show that you wish to change this – cater to your audience: the tired, rundown, exhausted, mentally drained, yearning graveyard shift worker with not enough daylight for himself. Then, we might see it change.

β€œTo move the needle, they must be disciplined in their pursuit – despite a lack of motivation and despite a lack of focus.”
