Resonating Through Shared Humanity: The Bloom of Knowingness
This is where the magic happens. Or at least the awkward self-reflection.
For those grappling with identity and difference.
Incredible child, the world is full of so many signals, and I believe you perceive many of them. It is hard to parse some, that is for sure, and some you are not ready to process. But let it be known you are not alone.
I know you struggle with this idea of neurodivergence, this unknowing, and the connotations around it. Others telling you it is not worth the time, energy, effort, and even questioning whether the label applies. I feel the knot that sits at a highly competent core, concerned that life like the people around you is unattainable β your you-ness feeling entirely alien to what you see of others.
I hear the questions which echo: Does that not just make me human? Why does this difference matter? Will it even make a difference? Will it cause weakness? All of these are valid and well considered. There are only complicated and complex answers, and I think it comes down to this:
If this label improves your life and these feelings of alienation, brings you community, does that not make it worth it? These are not conditions to be treated; this is a totally different experience of the world. Naming that difference is not by any stretch easy, and maybe it shouldnβt be β the world would be more interesting that way.
Just as gender and sexuality are things you know about yourself, so too is this. If how you feel you feels wrong based, then likely it is, as true you-ness exists without resistance. I do not talk of ego, but of how you as a conscious human identify yourself. It is not just about desires, but everything that makes up you.
So I resolve, gorgeous child, you are likely these neurodivergences as you see them, so rooted in your core as I do. I am here for every step of that journey, as it will likely bloom a beautiful flower through which the world can view you - appreciative or not. So set forth and be of yourself, you lovely person of the world.
βIf this label improved your life and these feelings of alienation, bring you community, does that not make it worth it?β
