Relate, Reflect and Ruminate: Scream

Because sometimes, emotions don’t fit into bullet points and I have a flare for the dramatic.

For those feeling overwhelmed and lost in life's turbulent seas

Submerged, the shore disappears

Floating as if in a dream

Firstly calm, but a dread floods in

The questions an avalanching cascade

My vessel not prepared

Pounded and beaten against the rocks

Broken, not a word uttered, no one to hear

Malaise overtaking a fatigued mind

Sleep would be salvation

Harmful voices to carry my safety

The booming chants escalate in my mind

Time slips in a grateful breath

Energised and vigilant I arise to a twisted world

The gnarled and vicious now calmer and tamer

Yet deep petrification remains at my task

Confusion arrives first in the lungs

It holds to wait for action, that never comes

The fear strikes the heart like a viper

Primal, it rises to become heard

Merely a drop in the ocean not even a word
